What this guide is—and is not.
This is an independently produced Japan field guide, not an official tourism or government service. It combines original editorial explanation with linked public sources. Recommendations are judgment, not guarantees. There are no paid placements, fabricated traveler reviews or claims that a table, class or room has been held for you.
Time-sensitive operational details are marked with sources and checked dates. Official rules and operator terms take precedence over this guide; confirm them again before purchase or travel. An illustrative budget is labeled as an assumption, and a public price is not silently treated as live availability.
The guide focuses on Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Sakai and Kobe, with a late-autumn planning lens. It does not pretend to cover every region or every type of Japanese experience.
No account. No tracking profile.
This site does not require an account, collect your saved-place list or use advertising/analytics trackers. Its interactive tools use browser-local storage only. The hosting provider still processes normal website requests, and external websites linked here have their own policies.
The requested Tailwind browser runtime is loaded from jsDelivr, which receives that ordinary asset request; essential styling is also local so reading does not depend on it. Photography and fonts are served locally. No credentials, private booking data or personal travel confirmations are embedded in the site.
You can remove your saved places in Field Notes. Clearing the site’s browser data also removes its checklist and theme preference. This is a device-local convenience, not a secure document vault; do not use it to store sensitive information.
Photography, typography and respectful use.
Photographs are used under the Unsplash License; the original photo pages and creators, where available, are listed below. Illustrative food photography does not imply that a pictured dish comes from a recommended restaurant. Fraunces and DM Sans are bundled under the SIL Open Font License, with license copies included in the assets.
External source material is linked for verification, not reproduced as a substitute for the original publication. The guide’s explanations are original. Use the source directory to check an operational detail directly.
